The Sandbanks Ferry, running between Sandbanks and Studland since 1926, is for many people, a "must do" on their visit to Poole. The chain ferry operates daily, carrying all manner of traffic across the mouth of Poole Harbour, cutting out the long journey time to places like Corfe Castle and Swanage from Poole by taking the direct route.
The first ferry of the day leaves from the Sandbanks side at 07:00hrs and the last ferry runs at 23:10hrs from the Studland side. The ferry runs a continual service through the day, with a service running every 20 minutes from each embarkation point. During peak periods, especially during the summer months you can expect to find some queues, but signs are erected alongside the road to give an indication of the time you will have to wait. For up to the minute information and prices, please visit the Sandbanks Ferry website at www.sandbanksferry.co.uk .
