Can I take my dog on the beach ?
The official line from the Borough of Poole is as follows :
"Dogs are banned from the main beaches from 1 May - 30 September. Dogs are permitted from west of Sandbanks Promenade and east of Branksome Chine to the border with Alum Chine".
How far is it from Poole Railway Station to the Ferry / Condor Terminal ?
As the crow flies it's just over 1 mile from the station to the terminal, although you would need to take a few twists and turns to get there ! If you decide to walk, it's all on the level, no nasty hills to worry about if you're carrying lots of luggage etc. One point to remember is that you will need to cross the lifting bridge, so allow time for that if your journey crosses with one of the regular opening times - see question below.
Should you decide not to walk, there are plenty of taxis available at the station, or if you can't locate one, follow the signs to the Dolphin Shopping Centre where there is another Taxi rank outside Primark.

When does the Poole lifting bridge open ?
With the construction of the new Twin Sails Bridge, the lifting times have ben amended.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty of when the new bridge will open, it is best to check http://www.boroughofpoole.com/transport-and-streets/roads-highways-and-pavements/bridge-lifting-times/?locale=en for the very latest on the bridge opening times.
