Situated centrally in the Town Centre, Lighthouse is literally, Poole's Centre for the Arts and was originally called the Poole Arts Centre.
Having celebrated its 21st year of operation in 1999 as Poole Arts Centre, the facility underwent a complete transformation to be reborn as Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts, reopening in October 2002.
Lighthouse is located in Kingland Road, a short walk from the Bus Station and directly opposite a large multi-storey car park, meaning access and parking is very easy. The Railway Station is a slightly longer walk away, although it is a level and easy walk.
The relaunch of the facility saw the introduction of many new features, as well as improved exsiting ones, including the new studio theatre, a ground floor bar and an all new imaginative facade to the building that comes alive at night with an impressive display of lighting. The old first floor bar has been completely transformed and is now a work of art in it's own right, produced by sculptor Danny Lane.
With the new enlarged and extended schedule of events, it is now not practical to provide a listing of these events on this website, but please visit Lighthouse's own website to view the list of events, shows and concerts where you can reserve your tickets online.
