Monkey World

MONKEY WORLD - VOTED DORSET'S BEST DAY OUT

Image of Chimp at Monkey WorldMonkey World was established in 1987 to provide a permanent home for abused Spanish beach Chimpanzees. At Monkey World the chimps are rehabilitated into social groups and live in large natural areas. You can walk around the site and watch the chimps as they go about their normal business of playing, eating, fighting and dozing. It is recommended to spend a while walking around the site, and to revisit the various enclosures several times to see a variety of action. Make sure you look out for the times of the "Keeper Talk", where you can learn more about particular residents, and the work done at Monkey World.

Image of Orangutan at Monkey WorldIt cannot be stressed enough what valuable and important work is carried out at Monkey World. The infamous cruelty case involving Trudy, the Chimp rescued from terrible conditions at Chipperfields, only proves too painfully there is still much work to do, both in this Country and across the World. Please take the time to visit Monkey World, your visit will help support this valuable work, and I'm sure you will have a great day out and will fall in love with the inhabitants of Monkey World !
