Flight Sergeant Geoffrey Walton
was killed when his Halifax bomber aircraft crashed near Thirsk in North
Yorkshire on 15 January 1945 . A memorial to the crew is to be dedicated on
Saturday 29 March 2003 . Nine airmen were killed . Seven Canadians and two RAF
members . He was the son of William Edgar and Mabel Victoria Walton of
Parkstone , Dorset , but for some unknown reason is buried in Staffordshire . I
am organising the memorial service and would like to contact his family to

know nothing at all about him. Any information would be great. I understand he
ended his days in Bath whilst living with his two sisters Edie and May. He had
been married to Annie Kathleen Jones Pickford of Weston, Bath, and together
they had three children - Marjery Pearl, Christine Winifred and Frederick John.
He worked as a steam roller driver for a firm called 'Barnes' at Southwick,
near Trowbridge, Wiltshire and at some stage moved to Battersea where he worked
