Walton, Geoffrey
Flight Sergeant Geoffrey Walton was killed when his Halifax bomber aircraft crashed near Thirsk in North Yorkshire on 15 January 1945 . A memorial to the crew is to be dedicated on Saturday 29 March 2003 . Nine airmen were killed . Seven Canadians and two RAF members . He was the son of William Edgar and Mabel Victoria Walton of Parkstone , Dorset , but for some unknown reason is buried in Staffordshire . Looking for any information on the family of Thomas Hibberd Warren who originaled from Wiltshire, and Louisa Samways of Wareham. According to the 1901 Census they lived in South Road, Poole with their then family of Lilian, Frederick and Winnie. If anyone has any information on this family I would love to hear from them. Weaver, Arthur
I am trying to trace any information about Arthur who was a baker/grocer who had his own shop in Market Street in 1916/18. He seems to have disappeared from local records at this time. Wheeler, Ebenezer
Born in Standerwick, Somerset, one of several children born to Andrew Wheeler and Fanny Batt. He was my Grandfather and I know nothing at all about him. Any information would be great. I understand he ended his days in Bath whilst living with his two sisters Edie and May. He had been married to Annie Kathleen Jones Pickford of Weston, Bath, and together they had three children - Marjery Pearl, Christine Winifred and Frederick John. He worked as a steam roller driver for a firm called 'Barnes' at Southwick, near Trowbridge, Wiltshire and at some stage moved to Battersea where he worked for Chivers and Son. [ Elizabeth Wemyss ]

My mother, Vera Wills, was born in the Portsmahon ( Portsmouth Hoy ?) on the Quay. Her uncle was a tug boat skipper, and her parents owned the Bridge Inn on West Quay Road. (now demolished). Seek info on Thomas Winsor bachelor of the City of Poole in the County of Dorset,England m. @ Hr. Grace, Newfoundland on 1807 06 06 to Margaret Murphy, spinister of Muskto, Newfoundland. Wit. Samuel Gordon & Thomas Prior. VS 45 C/E. Married at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Canada. Their son George born in Newfoundland, 1808. Other possible children are:Julia 1812, Amanda ?, Patience 1816, John?, Mary?,Alfred 1824,  William ?,  Isaac 1830. Thomas may be related to a William born c. 1783, and also lived in Carbonear. Other early Winsors in Carbonear, NF, are Simon 1796 - 1836,and James in Court records c. 1823. Thomas would have been born c 1788! I have this line of DNA.  Leslie A. Winsor, 28 Oxford Crescent, Mount Pearl, NF, Canada A1N 2X7. Amanda ? William ?

UPDATE Dec 2011 - Further investigations have revelaed that Thomas was a brother to William above born c 1783 and settled at Carbonear in the 1810's and also another brother James was in court there in the 1820's and died c 1830. There is a court document saying they are three brothers!

My Gt. Grandfather moved to Sandbanks and then Hamworthy from Somerset. Am interested in his children and what happened to them whilst in Hamworthy. I know that 3 sons joined the Royal Marines (2 dying in 1st World War) another joined the Navy and drowned in Poole Harbour. Charles Woodland my Grandfather had 9 children who are still in and around the Poole Area. Before Hamworthy became a builtup area, there would have been no one that didn't know the Woodland Family.
