Origins 'Italy' Are there any living in Dorset ? [ C.Cason ]

I am looking for any information on the Vallis (Vallace as it may have been spelled in earlier years) surname. I have James & Elizabeth (maiden name uk) Vallis who were both born before 1794. They were the first Vallis family to settle in Coomb's Cove, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland, Canada possibly about 1835, so all Vallis names go back to James & Elizabeth. They had 8 children :- Ann b 1816, d abt. 1812, Elizabeth b1820, d uk, Richard b 1824, d uk, Joseph b 1827, d 1872, James 1828, d uk, Susan b 1829, d 1900, Samuel b 1831, d uk, William b 1835, d 1874. It is believed all children were born in England except William. All children were baptised at bay de l'eau, nfld on oct. 15, 1835 by Edward wixx. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am now 71, so going back to the first decade of the last century do not have any more information, except, my Uncle Sidney, emigrated to Australia, in the 1930s, or may have been late 20s.My gran, who was Emily VIZARD, died in 1966, she was 86.
