Rallye Sunseeker, the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship, is unique. The only international rally staged in the south of England, it attracts top-class national and international rally drivers, along with valuable media coverage and a spectator footprint envied by other events, both local and national.
Rallye Sunseeker brings this hi-tech competition right into the heart of two of the south coast’s key locations, and injects more than £700,000 into the local economy.
The Friday evening Ceremonial Start on Poole Quay attracts thousands of local people, many of whom are seeing a rally car close up for the very first time, while similar numbers turn out to enjoy the celebrations at the Champagne Finish by Bournemouth Pier just after sundown on Saturday. The Ceremonial Start will commence at Poole Quay around 6pm on Friday 24 February. In 2011, 10,000 spectators packed the seaside harbour to meet the drivers, get close to the cars and get the chance to receive autographs.

Friday 24 February 2012 - The spirit of New Orleans Jazz.
The Hamworthy Club in Canford Magna in Poole
The spirit of New Orleans jazz comes to Dorset in February, all in aid of a worthy cause.
The six piece Golden Eagle Jazz Band is putting on a charity gig to help raise funds for Forest Holme hospice. The Poole-based hospice is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
Kevin Scott, band leader and tenor banjo player says: "Inspired by the music of the revival, the "Golden Eagle" plays New Orleans jazz the way it was meant to be played, that is, with a powerful and melodic front line and a hard driving rhythm section."
You can see this group which has been described as "The band that has the New Orleans bounce" on Friday 24 February at The Hamworthy Club in Canford Magna in Poole.
Friday 24 February 2012 - Blake at Poole Lighthouse

2011 was yet another fantastic year for Blake. In the Spring the quartet's TV schedule was busy with performances and interviews on Daybreak, BBC Breakfast, Loose Women, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and Sky News. They also made their debut appearance on US television with a performance in Trafalgar Square for NBC's Today show as part of the programme's royal wedding coverage.
Having performed over 150 concerts around the world in the last 12 months Blake are one of the most successful live touring groups of the past few years. As well as completing over 50 shows as part of their ‘An Evening With Blake' tour, Blake have continued to perform their magnificent repertoire at prestigious venues around the country - Blake were honoured to perform at both Lincoln Cathedral and Norwich Cathedral as part of the celebrations of the Royal British Legion's 90th Anniversary, whilst the summer saw them headline an evening concert at the elegant Henley Festival on the banks of the River Thames.
More recently Blake have celebrated their tenth on pitch performance at Twickenham Stadium ahead of the Rugby Heroes exhibition game, raising funds for Help for Heroes, where they entertained the crowds with their unique versions of Nessun Dorma, Jerusalem and, of course, God Save The Queen.
Blake have continued to take their music around the globe and perform for their international fan base with tours in Russia and the Far East , with the popularity of Blake and their music in Asia continuing to grow. The vocal group have just returned from a series of sold out concerts in the Philippines performing for tens of thousands, including in the capital Manila, and already have a number of engagements booked in for 2012.
2011 also saw Blake return to the studio to record their hugely anticipated fourth album. Developing their musical sound for the fourth album Blake have been privileged to work with a number of top US producers as well as acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren, who has previously written for Aerosmith, Celine Dion and Faith Hill.
2012 looks to be Blake's busiest year to date with the release of their brand new album in America and the UK as well as tours and concerts in the UK, China, the Philippines, USA and Bermuda thus confirming Blake as one of the UK 's busiest and most internationally in-demand bands.
