Image taken of Blue Pool through the surrounding pine treesSet in the Dorset countryside, Blue Pool offers a brief respite from the heady temp of our times. The Blue Pool gets its' name from it's unique and chameleon like pool. The pool retains miniscule light diffracting particles of clay, causing a kaleidoscopic change of colour in the water from turqoise, green to blue.

The pool is set in 25 acres of woodland and has been designated an area of Special Scientific Interest, and is home to rare indigenous plants and animals, such as the Dartford Warbler nad Green Sand Lizard.

Other facilities and items of interest at Blue Pool include:

Museum - As a former claypit, Blue Pool houses an absorbing museum, tracing the history from the earliest Clay Pipes to the master craftsmen, such as Wedgewood.

Image of Blue PoolThe Tea House - Built in 1935, the Tea House remains home to "home-baked" cooking of scones and bread.

Gift Shops - All the usual gifts, as well as some more unusual and imaginative ideas.

Plant Centre - For the plant and garden enthusiasts.
